Retail Therapy

I guess I have been feeling a little sorry for myself.  Kirk has been traveling a lot and I thought I was doing good.  After having him gone for a week to Japan, I thought I was doing great, but there is nothing like a little retail therapy to recharge or energize me.  I have had my eye on this soup pot and today I went and bought it.  I am soooo excited to make soup tonight!  When Kirk and I first got married, my mom advised us to get nice pots and pans.  We were so poor I am not sure why we spent so much money on nice pots and pans, but we did.  And they are still wonderful after 10 years.  Because they were so expensive, I have not bought any more pieces to add to what we have until now.  Who knew a pot would make me so happy?  It doesn't hurt that I got to browse around in Williams Sonoma either.

Dinner

Last night was a crazy one for us.  We all got home after 8 o'clock and had pizza for dinner (you know the kind that you can pick up for $5).  It was yucky, but boy was I hungry by that time.  What I really wanted was a Cafe Rio drive through.  One just opened in Cedar City.  Aren't they lucky?  I sure think so!

(Fan)cy Shmancy

Yesterday my husband went to SF for a business meeting.  The people he met with were from Japan and they sent me this, a Japanese Fan.  It came in a wooden box, all wrapped up in paper.  Inside were the fan and a matching little case.  It is beautiful.  Sometimes I feel sorry for myself that I live in the most informal and boring culture.  As I listened to Kirk talk about them and the possibility of going back to Japan, I was wishing that I could go again too.  Until then, I have my fan.
